Project Overview

Running a BitAxe Gamma solo Bitcoin miner integrated with Home Assistant. It's a small ASIC miner that contributes hashpower to the Bitcoin network while teaching me how mining actually works. The setup includes real-time monitoring of mining performance, hardware health tracking, and live network statistics.

Home Assistant Integration

Real-Time Monitoring: BitAxe integrated with Home Assistant for live tracking of mining performance and hardware health.

  • Metrics Tracked: Hashrate, efficiency (J/TH), power consumption, ASIC temperature, fan speed (RPM and %)
  • Dashboard Display: Custom cards showing current mining stats, best shares, and uptime tracking
  • Integration Method: Native Home Assistant BitAxe integration via local API
  • Alerts: Notifications for temperature anomalies or hashrate drops
  • Historical Tracking: Long-term graphs of hashrate stability, temperature trends, and power consumption

Why Run a BitAxe?

I'm running it to help secure the network, learn how mining actually works, and contribute to the Bitcoin blockchain. Plus, there's always the tiny chance of finding a block solo.

Educational Value: Hands-on experience with ASIC mining hardware, understanding difficulty adjustments, block rewards, and how the Bitcoin network validates transactions.
